Gold price today, November 26, world maintains the threshold of 4,100 USD/ounce
The world spot gold price in the Asian market at 6:15 a.m. this morning, November 26 (Vietnam time) was trading at around 4,136 USD/ounce, up 6 USD/ounce compared to the same time yesterday.
The world spot gold price closed the session in the US market early this morning (Vietnam time) at around 4,130 USD/ounce, down 4 USD/ounce compared to the previous session close in this market.

According to Kitco News, world gold continued to fluctuate above the price of 4,100 USD/ounce and remained firm as traders received a series of new US macroeconomic data.
With consumer confidence falling to its lowest level since April and retail demand slowing, markets are reassessing the real resilience of the US economy at a time when the Federal Reserve is entering a crucial policy phase. The resulting selling in gold has been chaotic but directional as investors adjust positions in anticipation of fresh guidance from policymakers.
The latest consumer confidence index showed a significant decline, falling to its weakest level since April. This is important for gold traders for two reasons. First, sentiment acts as a high-frequency gauge of household spending and reflects expectations for the broader economy.
Second, a drop in confidence typically supports gold, as investors hedge against uncertainty.
In terms of gold, lower PPI numbers typically weaken the dollar and support bullion, but the report was not the “shocking” one needed to reverse the overall rally. The market had already priced in a significant slowdown in inflation, so the report merely confirmed the trend and did not impact sentiment.
This resulted in a muted reaction as gold prices edged up slightly but failed to break the resistance as traders turned their attention to upcoming macro event risks.
The upcoming Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting is the main driver of gold’s medium-term performance. Today’s data largely contradicted expectations of a dovish surprise. With inflation readings steady, retail demand still positive, and consumer sentiment weakening but not collapsing, the Fed has room to maintain its current stance.
