Broker information

Headquarters: Toronto, Canada

Founded: 2011

Company name: Rockfort

Payment: visa, Master Card, Skrill

Overview

Rockfort Markets, founded in 2014 and headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, was a regulated forex and CFD broker under Rockfort Global Limited. It catered to both retail and institutional clients worldwide, offering a wide range of trading instruments.

Regulation

The broker was regulated by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) of New Zealand and registered under the FSPR (Financial Service Providers Register).
However, in 2023, Rockfort’s Derivatives Issuer Licence was revoked by the FMA due to serious breaches of licensing obligations. Following this, clients were advised to transition to BlackBull Markets, another New Zealand-based broker.

Trading Instruments

Forex: Major, minor, and exotic currency pairs.

Indices: CFDs on global indices such as S&P 500, Dow Jones, NASDAQ, FTSE 100, Nikkei 225, etc.

Commodities: Precious metals (gold, silver), energies (oil, natural gas).

Stocks & ETFs: Over 4,500 global equities via the TWS platform powered by Interactive Brokers.

Cryptocurrencies: CFDs on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, etc.

Trading Platforms

MetaTrader 4 (MT4): Popular platform supporting expert advisors, charting tools, and algorithmic trading.

Trader Workstation (TWS): Advanced white-label platform from Interactive Brokers, giving access to thousands of stocks and derivatives worldwide.

Deposits & Withdrawals

Funding methods included credit/debit cards, international wire transfers, Skrill, and POLi (for NZ residents). Deposits were usually instant, withdrawals processed within 1–3 business days.

Pros

FMA regulation (before license revocation).

Wide range of instruments, strong in global equities.

Two powerful trading platforms: MT4 & TWS.

High leverage up to 1:500.

Cons

High minimum deposits (USD 500–20,000).

Expensive funding fees via cards/Skrill.

Reputation severely damaged after license revocation.

As of 2023, Rockfort Markets (now RockGlobal Limited) is no longer authorized to issue derivatives in New Zealand. Most clients have been migrated to BlackBull Markets, with no transfer fees and portfolios preserved.
