What is FSCA?
The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) of South Africa, established in 2018 (replacing FSB), supervises Forex/CFD brokers with the aim of protecting investors, preventing fraud, and creating a transparent, safer trading environment.
How does FSCA regulate brokers?
1. Client fund protection: Brokers must keep client money in segregated bank accounts, audited annually.
2. Mandatory reports: Financial audits, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and compliance reports.
How to verify an FSCA license?
1. Get the broker’s FSP number or name from its website.
2. Go to FSCA Search.
3. Enter the details → check Products Approved for “Derivative Investment”.
4. Match FSCA info with the broker’s site. If not consistent → avoid it.
How to resolve disputes?
Step 1: Contact the broker directly.
Step 2: File a complaint with FAIS Ombud (limit: 800,000 Rand).
